Naming and Claiming Our Bias.

We insist on a diversity of voices. We honor each person doing the critical work of community building and transformation. We choose engagement and building relationships; we are stronger and more impactful when we work together. We listen deeply. We know practice includes mistakes (sorry about that); we repair them and grow. We model courage and risk-taking. We learn. We work for and with wisdom. We dare to be vulnerable and authentic. We carve out space for spirit and reflection. We believe in the promise of you, the promise of us, and in great possibilities.

Guidelines for Contributing to The Circle

Hello CLP alums and kindred spirits! Would you like to share your voice, values, perspective, vision, humor, ideas, courage, creativity, passion, spirit with us? There are four core sections of The Circle: The Current, Interviews, Creative, and Recharge. Please see below for details on each, and reach out with questions or to brainstorm ideas for your post. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Current
Calling CLP alumni: What pressing, urgent matter of interest would you like to draw our attention to? Please share your concerns, thoughts, feelings, reflections, and/or opinions about it. Can be written by you or a collection of CLP voices, normally 1,000 to 2,000 words (1-2 pages single-spaced).

Interviews
Raise your hand or recommend a CLP alum to be featured. These can take place on the phone, via Zoom/Skype, or in writing – whatever works best for you.

Creative
What creative arts piece inspires you? What have you produced that you’d like to share? Dance, drawing, film, music, non/fiction, painting, photography, poetry, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, theater and beyond. How does it resonate for you, what inspired you to create it, and/or how have you incorporated it into your own work and leadership?

Recharge
When you are wrestling with big questions and listening for answers, where do you turn? In what ways do you reflect, restore, rekindle your fire? Whether it’s a place, activity, resource, person, or something else… let us learn from it too.

Please send your ideas or draft submissions; and if you’re not sure yet, reach out and we’ll brainstorm together! Email: thecircle@clpnewhaven.org
