“I want a theology that begins to deepen people’s understanding about their capacity to live fully human lives and to touch the goodness inside of them rather than call upon the part of themselves that’s not relational.” –Dr. Ruby Sales
Ruby Sales is an activist, theologian, educator and founder-director of The Spirit House Project, a national non-profit organization that uses the arts, research, education, action and spirituality to bring diverse peoples together to work for racial, economic, and social justice, and for spiritual maturity. Sales’ interview here is by Krista Tippett for On Being, an audio program that takes up “the big questions of meaning” through dialogue with scientists, theologians, artists and teachers.
Ms. Sales is one of fifty African Americans to be highlighted in the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. She will be featured in a CEIO Deeper Change Forum, Intersection of Spirituality and Politics: A Movement Toward Wholeness, on January 25 & 26, 2018.
